Scholastic Book Fair...coming soon!Scholastic Book Fair - Wed. Dec. 13th, Thur. Dec. 14, Mon. Dec. 19th, and Tues. Dec. 20th.The Scholastic Book Fair will be at our school next week. It will be open several periods a day giving all classes the opportunity to come down and browse and make purchases. It will also be open Tuesday December 20th from 5:00 pm until the start of the Holiday Concert. This is a great place to do some holiday shopping and give back to our school! A Book Fair pamphlet has gone home with each student and on the back of it there is a chance for a student to win $25 in books for their home library and $25 for their classroom ...

Crawford Lake Trip - December 6, 2016On Tuesday December 6, 2016, Grade 2, 3, and 5 classes will be heading to Crawford Lake Conservation Area to take part in exciting learning experiences to discover more about Celebrations of the First Nations people and Life in a Longhouse. This is a great hands-on learning experience for our students and will help support the Social Studies curriculum in Grade 2, 3, and 5. It should be a great day.

Fridays in the Forest and Wednesdays in the WoodsStarting this week, Grade 3s, Grade 1s are taking their learning outdoors on Friday afternoons. Students will be hiking the Bruce Trail to build a sense of community, explore the natural world and build on student's natural curiosity about the world we live in. Students in Mrs. Alberts' Kindergarten class will be hiking the trail on Wednesdays. Limehouse is very fortunate to have this great natural resource at our doorstep and this is a wonderful learning opportunity for students.

1st Annual Pumpkin ContestGet into the Fall spirit by decorating a pumpkin of your favourite book character. It is easy and fun for everyone!Let your creativity soar. Paint it, dress it, accessorize it, but NO carving! (Carved pumpkins rot quickly). Drop off your pumpkin book characters anytime between October 17th - October 29th. We will display them in our Library and our judges will vote for their favourite pumpkin on Oct. 31st.

Terry Fox Run/Walk RescheduledOur Limehouse Terry Fox walk/run will be tomorrow--Thursday October 6 from 1:30pm - 2:30pm. All students will be going outside to walk or run around our playground. Parents are welcome to come and join in the fun.

Terry Fox Run/WalkOur annual Terry Fox run/walk will take place on Thursday September 29. We will have a kick off assembly from 11:15am -11:30am and then the whole school will go outside to walk/run around the playground from 11:30am-12:15pm. Students are asked to bring in a Toonie for Terry as a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation. Parents are welcome to attend and run/walk with the staff and students.

Halton Children's Water FestivalOn Wednesday September 28, the grades 3,4 and 5 classes will be attending the Halton Children’s Water Festival at Kelso Conservation Area in Milton. “The HCWF combines Ontario curriculum requirements and offers fun, hands-on learning activity centres that are displayed throughout the event in a natural outdoor setting. Nearly 60 interactive activity centres teach children about water conservation and protection, water health and safety, water science and technology, and water and society.” (HCWF, 2016)The students will attend the festival from 9:00-2:00. This event is entirely outdoors, so please ensure your child is dressed for the weather.

Cross CountryAll students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will be participating in the Bero Cross Country meet on Monday September 26 at Sherwood Forest Park in Burlington. We will be leaving Limehouse at 8:30am. The races will run from 10:00am until 11:30am. The students will return to Limehouse by 12:45pm. Parents are welcome to drive to Sherwood Forest Park and cheer on the team!!
