  • Another Exciting Author Event in the Library! Thank you to Author Andrew Larsen who did a Virtual Author visit with all of our Kindergarten to Grade 2 classes in the Library today!  Andrew book, A Squiggly Story, is currently nominated for a Blue Spruce Award. The students had the opportunity to interact with the author, ask questions about his books and learn about his writing process!

  • Library News: Forest of Reading Program The Primary Students of L.P.S. are once again taking part in the Ontario Library Association’s Blue Spruce Reading Program. Each year 10 Canadian picture books are nominated for the Blue Spruce Award. Students in Kindergarten to grade 2 participate in the program and are read each of the nominated books from January to April during their Library classes. After all the stories have been read, the students will have the chance to vote for the book of their choice. This year students in Grades 3 and 4 are invited to participate in the Ontario Library Association’s Silver Birch Express Program.   • A Message from Mme Romanet Bonjour,We have been having a great winter so far in the French classes.  The junior French students worked hard on their writing resulting in wonderful snowman letters by the Grade 4's, soon to be on display in the hallway near the library, and friendship cubes by the Grade 5's, on display in the library.  After preparing for reading with various prereading activities, each grade has been working on story reading in their Galaxy readers.  The grade 1's have done a great job with weather words and are moving on to body parts. All students are encouraged to try and listen to a bit of French television coverage of the Olympics!  Happy Family Day to all!Mme ...

  • Do You Know about National Flag of Canada Day? On February 15th, National Flag of Canada Day falls during the Olympic Winter Games. The National Flag of Canada is celebration its 53 anniversary and Canadians are invited to celebrate this important symbol of our identity by organizing their own events, showing their pride and cheering on Canadian Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

  • February is Black History Month Throughout February, our Grade 5 students will share facts, contributions and musical influences of Black Canadians during morning announcements. In addition, the library will house a display to increase the school community’s awareness of the month's celebrations and showcase books by Black Canadian Authors and Illustrators.

  • Junior Kindergarten Registration Information Dear Limehouse Families, Kindergarten registration for students starting school in September 2018 is now underway.  Students born in 2014 are eligible to register for Junior Kindergarten.  Halton District School Board is encouraging parents to register their children before February 4, 2018 Packages are available at the office.  Updated immunization and registration forms can be picked up at the school. If you have a neighbour or friend with a child born in 2014 and who lives in the Limehouse catchment please let the families know and encourage them to register before February 4. We greatly appreciate your help with spreading the word in the community. G.   • December 22--- Zone 3 Buses cancelled, Limehouse Public School is open December 22,2017: All schools are open, however school bus transportation is cancelled for Zone 3 only. Parents who keep their children at home when schools are open, MUST report this absence before the school day starts.

  • Food Drive by the Fives The Grade Five class is collecting non-perishable food items, or grocery store gift cards for the Georgetown Bread Basket.Our school goal is 300 items.Collections will occur daily in classrooms until December 15.  Thanks for your support!

  • Freeze DNA Comic Art Tour - Monday December 4th! On Monday December 4th at 1:30 pm we are thrilled to have a presentation by Freeze DNA Comic Art Tour.  Freeze Kids Comic Book Art Workshops are conducted by professional comic book artists Anthony Stanberry and Jermaine Smith who have published several children’s drawing books and graphic novels. Each workshop is 45 minutes long and students will have the opportunity to draw along with the artist and keep the drawings they have created.   • Limehouse 2nd Annual Pumpkin Contest Winner Congratulations to Madison in Grade 5 for winning this years Pumpkin Character Contest! Thank you also to all the families that participated in this years contest!! We had 40 pumpkins entered into the contest and the staff we're blown away with all the creativity! Thank you for to all the entries for making our Library look so great for Hallowe'en :)
