The first author is Michael Wade and he will be here on April 5th to talk to our Grade 3, 4 and 5 students. Micheal is the author of the popular “And Then It Happened” Series. Battle of the Books 2017Our 2017 Battle of the Books Team has been working hard in preparation for the Battle on Wednesday March 29th at the Halton Hills Public Library!Battle of the Books is a fun, free and educational program that all schools in Halton Hills are invited to attend. It is a school-day event where teams of students come to the Georgetown Library to play in a “quiz show” kind of game. Teams are asked to answer questions based on the plots and characters of familiar stories. March Spirit Days!!March Spirit Days!!!!This week, at Limehouse Public School, we would like to kick off March Break with a couple of Spirit Days!Tuesday March 7 - Come dressed in green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Don't forget your shamrocks!Thursday March 9 - Beach Day!!!! Come dressed in your most colourful beach-y clothes! This could include items such as sunglasses, shorts, t-shirts, and sandals. Scholastic Book Fair...coming soon!Scholastic Book Fair - Wed. Dec. 13th, Thur. Dec. 14, Mon. Dec. 19th, and Tues. Dec. 20th.The Scholastic Book Fair will be at our school next week. It will be open several periods a day giving all classes the opportunity to come down and browse and make purchases. It will also be open Tuesday December 20th from 5:00 pm until the start of the Holiday Concert. This is a great place to do some holiday shopping and give back to our school! A Book Fair pamphlet has gone home with each student and on the back of it there is a chance for a student to win $25 in books for their home library and $25 for their classroom ...

Crawford Lake Trip - December 6, 2016On Tuesday December 6, 2016, Grade 2, 3, and 5 classes will be heading to Crawford Lake Conservation Area to take part in exciting learning experiences to discover more about Celebrations of the First Nations people and Life in a Longhouse. This is a great hands-on learning experience for our students and will help support the Social Studies curriculum in Grade 2, 3, and 5. It should be a great day.

Fridays in the Forest and Wednesdays in the WoodsStarting this week, Grade 3s, Grade 1s are taking their learning outdoors on Friday afternoons. Students will be hiking the Bruce Trail to build a sense of community, explore the natural world and build on student's natural curiosity about the world we live in. Students in Mrs. Alberts' Kindergarten class will be hiking the trail on Wednesdays. Limehouse is very fortunate to have this great natural resource at our doorstep and this is a wonderful learning opportunity for students.

1st Annual Pumpkin ContestGet into the Fall spirit by decorating a pumpkin of your favourite book character. It is easy and fun for everyone!Let your creativity soar. Paint it, dress it, accessorize it, but NO carving! (Carved pumpkins rot quickly). Drop off your pumpkin book characters anytime between October 17th - October 29th. We will display them in our Library and our judges will vote for their favourite pumpkin on Oct. 31st.

Terry Fox Run/Walk RescheduledOur Limehouse Terry Fox walk/run will be tomorrow--Thursday October 6 from 1:30pm - 2:30pm. All students will be going outside to walk or run around our playground. Parents are welcome to come and join in the fun.
