Subject: A Special Cultural Experience: The Three Musketeers / Les Trois Mousquetaires!
Dear Families,
We are thrilled to share that on Tuesday, February 17, our Grade 1–5 Core French students at Limehouse Public School will be treated to a special bilingual performance of The Three Musketeers by the renowned Duffelbag Theatre!
This event is made possible through a cultural grant intended to provide students in Halton schools with rich, authentic French language experiences. Duffelbag Theatre is famous for its interactive storytelling style, where students are invited on stage to become part of the play.
While the show is sure to be full of laughs, it also serves as a valuable learning tool. This experience aligns with our Core French curriculum by helping students:
Build Listening Skills: Students will identify familiar words, phrases, and expressions in a real-world context.
Use Visual Clues: By watching the actors’ body language and tone of voice, students will practice strategies to confirm and clarify meaning.
Make Connections: Students will use their prior knowledge of stories to bridge the gap between English and French, asking questions and making personal connections to the performance.
We are so grateful for the funding that allows us to bring these "living language" opportunities directly to our gym! It promises to be a memorable morning of culture, comedy, and creative learning.
If you have any questions about the event, please feel free to reach out to Mr Jones or Mme Pippo.
