WEEKLY UPDATE FROM LIMEHOUSE PUBLIC SCHOOL
March 31, 2025
Kindness, Gratitude and a Growth Mindset
Dear Limehouse Families,
Halton Hills Film Festival Coming to Limehouse!
The film screened at Limehouse is the 2016 Canadian animated children's film Ballerina. It is featured as part of National Canadian Film Day's Canadian Film Collection. Here is a description of the film, the trailer, film rating, and details about the cast and crew. https://canfilmday.ca/film/ballerina/
This is a Free of Charge community event of the Halton Hills Public Library and all community members are invited. Only children accompanied by a parent or guardian may attend. Limehouse PS Staff will not be supervising unattended children.
If you would like to meet your child at school at 3:00 pm, doors open at that time. Please let us know in advance that you would like your child to NOT ride the bus home and we will divert them from the bus lines.
Spongebob the Musical!
For our theatre visit this year we will be going to Milton Performing Arts Centre in May to see Spongebob the Musical. This will be a no cost trip because we have had a successful fundraising year of Pizza Lunches. More details to follow!
Clothing drive & Earth Day updates
Limehouse will be accepting donations of CLEAN Spring/Summer clothing, Newborn to young adults sizes, to help support a clothing swap held at The Roxy Centre in Acton. Donations will be accepted until the end of the school day on Thursday, April 10th. We will put a box in the front hallway and I will deliver it on Friday, April 11th. Families may attend the free event to update their children’s wardrobes! See picture below.
Earth Day Clean-Up - Help Us Reduce Waste!
Our annual Earth Day clean-up is happening soon on April 22nd, and we are excited to have our students take part in caring for our local environment!
As part of our board's commitment to Environmental and Global Citizenship, we will not be providing plastic gloves this year to reduce unnecessary waste and our carbon footprint. Instead, we encourage students to bring their own reusable gloves, such as gardening gloves, winter gloves, or other durable options.
By making this small change, we are helping to reduce plastic pollution and reinforcing the importance of sustainability in our daily actions. This effort aligns with Sustainable Development Goal #12 Responsible Consumption and Production and #15: Life on Land, which focuses on reducing waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse, and protecting ecosystems and biodiversity.
Thank you for your support in fostering environmental responsibility among our students!

Join HLF Month:
Your Community, Your Impact This April, the Halton Learning Foundation calls on our entire community to unite against the financial barriers preventing HDSB students from accessing a full education. Whether you're a business, community group, or school, you can host your own fundraiser—from bake sales to team challenges—to help provide essential resources like school supplies, activity fees, and food support. Every dollar raised makes a difference, and thanks to CN, all donations will be matched up to $25,000—doubling your impact! A culminating part of our HLF Month is the “Students in the Spotlight” fundraiser event. Join us on April 30 at 7:00 PM, at Burlington Central High School, where we’ll celebrate the incredible talents of HDSB students. Learn more and start your fundraiser at haltonlearningfoundation.ca/hlfmonth. Sponsorships are available to amplify our collective impact.
